Hey guys bumping my thread for a little more advice.
I have a few offers and have had a few people flake on me and what not.
Now I have a guy that is wanting to trade for a 2000 4.2 extra cab with power windows, locks, cruise ect.
He says the chassis has over 200k but both the motor and trans was rebuilt at 168k.
I did a search on here about the 4.2 and found that some people have different opinions about it. I do not know much about the 4.2 but the truck looks like it is in really good condition. 100% stock
Is this a fair trade? Any advice on this motor would be appreciated.

Sell your truck. Make a budget the absolute most you can afford. I really think it takes about 10 grand minimum to get a decent truck these days. This is your bread and butter. Gotta have reliable. a truck that has 200 grand on it the owner say he "rebuilt" and all. Naw... I would find an un molested truck. one that has around 100k on it that has belonged to the same guy. No 5.4-3v. When your looking look for trucks that have been garaged-makes a big difference.
