Ranch Hand install question

Hey everybody!

So I bought a ranch hand grill guard on Craigslist the other day. It came with all the mounting brackets needed to install, but no instructions.

I went on ranch hands web site, and I saw their "instructions" aka cad drawing that doesn't help me much hahaha.

So I just wanted to get some people's thoughts who have installed them on their trucks.

Do I have to remove the grill to get to the bolts for the upper support brackets?
Or is it easier to go underneath? I crawled under there and looked, and don't see an easy way. Just want to find out the best path before I completely take apart 80 things to find out I could have done it 10x easier.

Any info appreciated!

Thanks!

Edit: links didn't work. Ranch Hand has written pdf instructions on their website.

You should be able to get to the bolts from under the truck.

If you move this black plastic/rubber shroud thing out of your way you can see the bolts from the inside of the frame. Your truck will look a little different underneath though because I have a full ranch hand bumper on mine already.

Thanks for the help!

I got it on!

Definitely was pretty tough as a one man install haha.

Any ideas on how to mount KC or PIAA etc lights on a ranch hand?

Not really I have the same problem with my RH bumper, it does not have any place to mount lights and I'm too lazy to drill holes in it.

I don't have any pictures on this computer, but if you want some offroad lights on a RH Legend series (has the honeycomb mesh), you'll need to fab up some tabs. If you just drilled into the horizontal pipe, the round back of the light would get caught up in the mesh.

Me and the owner of the truck accessory shop spent 30 minutes trying to decide the best way and that's the route we chose. You can just get some small 2"x2" (or whatever size works best) pieces of steel and weld them on the guard. Same idea as a light bar. I would say have them on the lower of the 3 horizontal bars.

[Had the same guard on my '00 f150]

Ranch Hand makes fog light brackets for the mesh on the grill.
