heres my thread on how im doing it. i know its supposed to be 3. but i had extra wire, so why not

solder i used.


torch used to melt solder. its a little overkill


7ft. of 0 awg wire with ring terminals.


first one i did was the frame to body wire behind the passenger front tire.


the next ones were battery negative to body and frame. i misjudged the length on the battery ones, so they didnt turn out how i wanted them too.


then i did motor to frame.



both the motor and battery to frame were grounded on the stock location in the passenger side front wheel well.



im not finished because i still need to get the battery to alternator. but that may be a while because i have to take the S/C off to get to it.

Yeah Iam a firm believer of over engineering stuff.

Troubleshooting is all about elimination.

 

Very nice! I just used a BFH to "crimp" the 1/0 lugs for mine, then wrapped it in electrical tape.

however, my voltage went from 13.7-13.9 at idle to 14.2-14.6 (depending on ambient temp)

 

i was debating using 4 awg wire, but id rather be safe than sorry.

i used a bench vise to crimp them a little before i soldered the connectors fully.

my voltage is around 14.00 on average, the highest ive seen it stock is 14.30 so i wonder how high it can actually go.

 

well, i have my voltmeter wired up to my amplifier and the highest i've ever seen it was 15.0v (of course that was with a brand new reman'd alt and disconnecting the battery, so the computer was "learning")

 

What's the purpose of this?

 

so the electricity will flow better threw the truck. the stock wiring is very small.

its only really helpful if you have alot of electrical accesories on your truck, like a large amp, more lights, E-fans, etc.
