I have a 1997 f150 4.6 with 176,000 miles and it needs valve cover gaskets replaced how hard is it to do and does any one have any pictures of replacing them thanks
Why do you think the valve cover gasket needs replaced? They are pretty heavy duty. Got a leak? sure its the valve cover? They head gaskets leak more often then the valve (cam) covers do..
Cam Cover gasket failures are rare.. its not that hard, really. I replaced mine while I was swapping my engine and once I saw them I regretted buying the gaskets. They last forever usually..
I have an old 1997 F150 5.4L. So here's the issue,I have oil in my bank 1 plugs, all of them. Was told my valve cover gasket needs to be replaced. Ordered valve cover gaskets and what hey say should be there is not. The gaskets they gave me are a 7x7 offset corner... mine is a 5x6 square corner... nobody seems to know what or why. Have been told engine has been swapped, only thing is that I know it hasnt my brother bought it new off the lot and he says nothing was ever changed just maintenance.
Any insight as to why there is oil on my plugs or why my valve covers are different would be great.
Thnx
