Help with PO171 and PO175 codes

Hello all, I'm having these 2 codes right after I did a spark plug and coil change, did use motocraft plugs, it had autolite before and they didn't look that bad at all, truck ran great right after and on the next moring it started shaking really bad, there is also a raw fuel smell coming from it. Went back and re-checked everything just to make sure, elbow behind intake looks good didn't see any holes in it, maf sensor looks clean, all hoses are connected where they were before, checked for vacuum leaks and found nothing. I'm running out of ideas on this one, I've seen the po172 and po175 together but not lean and rich at the same time, it lacks power and shakes terribly on idle, by the way it's an 03 with the 5.4, 4x4, stock and 248k, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have to address the raw fuel first. Is it in the engine bay or the exhaust?
Did you have any injectors removed?
It's possible to have oppisite codes at times as one could have been set before the other so you see both.
Rough idle with a rich smell tells you to much fuel.
Are all the coil boots greased on their tips so the boots don't hang up and there are no springs hung up short.
Has the fuel regulator been worked with in any way?
Try for the rich fuel first then clear the codes and see what comes back then run with that one.
Your the second thread I see with a good running engine that got into trouble doing maintaince.
Double check all the rubber fittings and behind the top intake on a motor with so many miles for being hard an split or cracked..
Good luck.

The raw fuel smell seems to be coming from the exhaust, i did remove the rail and injectors on the driver's side in order to get to the last plug, did not grase the boots at all, the fuel regulator hasn't been worked on. I will do that and report back thanks.

I agree. The only time I've ever seen both like that myself is when it was to late to save that O2. It's shot now IMO, Running rich kills them quick.

03FX4S/C - Right, figure out why it's rich, keep in mind, your most likley going to need an new O2 as well. Regulator is a good place to start and everything else Bluegrass suggested.
