Question Newer model Steering wheel in older model truck?

So...I have a new Headunit and it has the option for steering wheel control intergration but since our styles dont have that i'd have to get some tacky box thing that would mount to the steering wheel....ummm no?

Anyway, does anyone know it there is a way to fit a newer model steering wheel on our model? One with the controls for the radio as well as the cruise?

I have to assume as far a wiring it'd just be as simple as connecting the wires correctly, I think the problem would come with the fitment wouldnt it?

Thanks for any input, ideas, etc. And if it makes any diff, I have an 03 KR...

changing to a newer steering wheel, if it can be done, I think would need the wiring connections underneath it to be swapped out.... including the clock spring...which is for the airbags... which I personally suggest not to be messed with

there have been a few that have used newer stuff, but i dont think its the F150 one.

FWIW you could also use a navigator/blackwood steering wheel with the extra buttons, should be the easiest route....

The 05-07 super duty wheel with audio controls should work too.

That would work probably, and i thinl it would look good with the KR, it wouldnt be the leather on the wheel but there is woodgrain in the dash so on the wheel would look good.

Would it be a direct swap, minus wiring, since its the same yearmodel and everything?

I don't think so. LMC lists the steering shaft etc. As the same part number...
