roll down rear window

Alright so I saw a couple tundras today with a roll down rear window and it got me to thinking. Would it be possible to put a full roll down rear window in our trucks? I really want one haha

There's always aftermarket kits to do such a thing. There was even a special version of the 83-88 Ranger that had a power sliding rear window. No idea where to look for such a kit, though.

First look at the shape of the back of the cab. Where would the glass go?

Yea man. I always get a little jealous when a Tundra rolls by... I saw a crew cab Tundra with all FIVE windows and the sunroof open.

I really do envy those Toyotas for that "freedom". Its the best of both worlds- air swooshing around like a convertible, and shade from the roof.

This is a very valid point that I hadn't considered. I would think that for our trucks the best you could do would be to make the glass removable and stow it somewhere in the truck, somewhat like an Avalanche.

Anderson, I already have the sunroof lol. However there seems to be room behind the rear seat in my scab so I figured it might work

Power rear slider would be almost as good and WAY easier.

This is actually a pretty cool idea. If you find a way to do it, keep us posted.

Agree. I installed a power slider as no way I could see us being able t install the roll up type.

My regular cab has the manual sliding rear glass it's right within my reach....a screw would benefit from a power rear glass though. I have an amp rack on my back wall so a roll-up window would be next to impossible. What an awesome idea though! I'd really like to see this come to fruition...good luck!
