Benefits of changing the front end bushings

Hey all I'm think of buying a kit that has all the front end suspension bushings and new ball joints. What benefits can I expect from this?

More precise steering and back to original ride. Might look at urethane bushings. The upper control arm will have to be replaced as the ball joint is an integral part of it. Make sure you replace the sway bar bushings and end link bushings too, if you have one. I would do the shocks and rear leaf bushings at the same time.

urethane bushings are a much harsher ride than stock rubber ones. they are intended for low-COG vehicles that want precise and quick steering. Its a truck, not a sports car.

I'm with c.frank on this one. Urethane can make a huge difference (and check the sway bar bushings). It's definitely possible to lower the COG & improve the handling capability of the f150. It's not ever going to be a 911, but huge gains can be made. I'll probably put urethane in when I have to replace them.

To Alfredoleffew, if they're in bad shape, it'll make a big difference just replacing with stockish bushings & ball joints. If they're not bad, it may be unnoticeable. Why are you thinking about replacing them?

I'm thinking of changing them because I'm going to install a lift so might was well since I'll be in there.
Also, am I better off changing only the upper ball joints, or get the arms with the ball joints already installed? I seen a kit with 2 Upper control arms right & left w/ ball joints & bushings

2 Lower ball joints, 2 Inner & 2 outer tie rods end, 1 Pitman arm

Does that sound like a good buy when installing a lift?

It sounds like everything you would need other than the lift, I'm not lifted so again I'll have to let someone else talk. Try rock auto for the parts they sell moog and are about the cheapest place around.. How about some pics of your truck?

A lift is already going to be hell on your suspension. I put urethane bushings on my front end and regret it. Its such a harsh ride and I feel every bump in the road. If you are going to apex corners with squeeling tires I get it. But for an F-150 I'm already planning on swapping everything back to rubber.
