Im sure this is a newb question but will I notice a diffference in the way my truck runs if i ran a higher grade of fuel than just regular unleaded? the truck is a 2002 f150 with the 5.4.

 

Unless you add a tune that is written for a different octane, your tune calls for 87, and that will be best for it. However, it is important to buy a fuel with a good cleaner, such as Chevron and Texaco with Techron. Shell is good as is QT. Another important factor is to buy from pumps where you are reasonably confident that the tanks are fairly new(clean).

yeah you dont need to run higher octane unless you are tuned for it.
