Anything can be done: Powerstroke Swap
Farm boy fab has a cummins in the green solid axle truck. That is the older 7.3 so no intercooler system so that probibly aided in the install.
Just another example of our current education system...
So to keep this post on topic, I'd rather do the V10 swap in an F150... Sure, a 7.3 is cool, but it's not like you can hitch up a #10,000 toy hauler to it either...
It still only has a GVWR of around #6500....

I guess it all depends on what your goals are...
7.3 weighs around #1000 +. 6.8 weighs around #600.
Plan on having any payload left in the F150?
You can put 1 ton axles on a Yugo, but that don't make it an F350...
Still, a very cool project and proves that it can be done, so that in itself is what makes it

grammar **** in the house!
150xlt had a 6bt in his '98 F-150
Haha I think he read that sentence too fast before he responded. The older 7.3s weren't turbocharged. Maybe that's what he meant

Personally, if I was going to do the swap I would go all the way with axles, suspension, tranny, and motor. I had a V10, and the way gas prices are going, I'd take the higher GPM 7.3L over the 11GPM on a good day V10. And yes, I know that's the GPM for a fact because I had one.
Although, the V10 has a nice stare effect when you pull up to a traffic light and the guy in the little car next to you sees the Triton V10 badge on the fender. I do miss the double takes. Amazes me at how many people still don't know that Ford had a V10 that they put in their F250's.
I would love to have a built supercharged V10 dropped into a Lightening just to see what could be done with it. Does anyone know of one that has been built by anyone and how it worked out?
