I'm pretty sure half of us do not have lightning heads... Just stating facts man

But in all seriousness, headlights aren't whats gonna make your truck look like one it's not. It's everything put together that does it. Stance, wheels, body mods, etc. All collective, not a single part. A lot of people run lightning wheels, even on lifted trucks, but they don't look like lightnings.

His on the otherhand, at first glance looks like a lightning, and then you look a little closer and can tell its not. I can appreciate a lightning clone, let alone any clean looking truck. I'm just not a fan at all of hids.

Your probably right he won't change them to halogens, it's his truck he can do what he want's with it, as long as he's happy with it then that's all that matters. I merely gave my opinion of his lighting choice.

Ok - while we are waiting on the slips, I ran the numbers:

I was very lenient with the gains - no consideration for torque or area under the curve for simplicity

In the real world they are not strictly additive but supportive, but I'll let that go:

- 4.6L 2v - (25% driveline loss for 2wd) - 220fwhp x 0.75 = 165 rwhp
- 'tune' - ~15-20hp (93 octane)
- 3" pipe - bupkis (and a net torque loss; 3" is too big) = 0
- shorties - (useless) = ~3-5 hp
- intake - (also useless) = ~3 hp
- pullies = ~5hp
- efans = ~5hp

Total rwhp = 200-220 very generous rwhp
On happy gas ( 100 shot) = 300 rwhp

Truck weighs ~ 4,500-5,000 lbs with fluids & driver

I used a rough E.T. calculator: http://robrobinette.com/et.htm

...and came up with mid to high14's on happy gas; mid 16's N/A.

13.6 does not compute. .. but I'll defer to timeslips .. who knows?

Someone wanna check my math?

Any standard cab you lowered and put a valance on would remind you of a lightning. That does not make it a clone. If you know your lightnings, it's pretty obvious he was not cloning. My goodness, the wheels were even HD. It's nicely modded truck as far as I am concerned. Other than the lights, that is. Can't stand those lights, especially at night when coming at me!

This be my generation. In my opinion, it's only marginally 'better' than Generation Y. Methinks I was born out of due season.

I hadn't heard of Generation Y extending all the way into the mid 70's, but as many sources note, there's no universally agreed upon time.

Nah, I trust ya!

In short, 300 rwhp (MAX) + 4,500-5,000 lb vehicle does not equal 13.6 1/4 mile times.

But I'll wait patiently for the slips, too.

Thanks for the stats, MGD!

OK, then. Here's my 'slip':

60' .83
330' 3.7
1/8 5.2
mph 272
1/4 4.2 (that's right...faster than the 1/8!)
mph 186,000 miles/sec.

Yo!

See? Anybody can do that.
