Access to pax fender vac lines?
Access to pax fender vac lines?
Does anyone know of an easier/quicker way to gain access to the vacuum box underneath the passenger side fender without actually removing it? I did some rummaging around my PCM connector today and I guess I pulled the vac lines too far because I have an ominous sucking sound coming from the pax fender. Much appreciated,
It was farther forward than I remember. When I got into my accident and replaced the fender I remember looking at the rubber hose connecting the two and thinking to myself: "If I don't replace that now, I'm going to have to pull the fender off again." Well sure as crap, I did.
Moral of the story: always do what your gut tells you!

Lesson learned and for people who might be searching: I did this yesterday by pulling on the bank of vac lines by the battery tray and starter solenoid. Today I got codes P1537 and P1538 (IMRC Bank 1 and 2 stuck open) and gave me a ROUGH idle. Of course I already knew where the problem was. The sucking was louder than the idling engine lol

Wow. My cannister was not that far forward in the fender. I think it may be a different canister on the 4wd models.
Looks like you got to it though. ECK!!!!

In hindsight I could've just dropped the wheel fender liner and got to it, but this was easier to work with as far as replacing it AND since my pax fender is a reman from my last wreck, I fixed a little gap issue I was having. Win/win siutation. Onto my next project: A/C recharge and wiring up a brake controller for my camper
