I have a 99 5.4. Yesterday got home and shut it off and the volt gauge and oil pressure gauge stay on. Also the odometer reads (------). I have read other people with the dashes, but the get no start. Mine starts just fine and runs fine. I have to unhook the neg cable to get it to not draw juice. This morning I noticed that when i hook up the battery the headlights come on and wont shut off with the switch, Could this be the problem, a bad switch?

 

My guess is the GEM. -Water intrusion. Take it apart and look for water stains/corrosion. Clean it up, blow it out, reconnect, then hook the battery back up. See what yuh got.
