As far as the whine, mine was absolutely quiet until I found that the pinion seal was leaking and "trusted" the dealer to replace it. Well lo and behold, just after then did the work it started whining from about 42-50mph. I have taken it back twice and had their "Rear end expert" look at it and he said that it is whining because the gears are not set at the exact same spot as before the seal was replaced, and unless they spend quite a few hours working at it they will never be able to get it in the exact same spot again. He said the only solution is a new gear set. To beat all I was under my truck the o0ther day and take a guess what I saw? Yep, the pinion seal is still leaking. Gotta take it back again next week.

Step down off of my soap box now.

Again great looking truck, it looks like it has a few tasteful mods. What are your plans for future mods?
Thanks, I took the side steps off today and pressure washed the undercarriage. I think I'll take the drivers door panel off tomorrow and track down a rattle. The whine at ~50 is bearable, I suspect similar problems with the gears. All in all I'm thrilled with it.

I sold a 2011 Tundra which I liked a lot, but have always preferred the looks of this gen F150.

I think tires are in the near future, not sure which ones, and the Gotts mod. I'm dropping it off next week for some service, perhaps plugs. I'm sure I should replace the factory Ranchos that are 9 years old now... Probably going to get some bilsteins.

I'm happy about the miles, but wouldn't have hesitated on a high mile rig if it was serviced regularly.

More to follow in the next few weeks!

I have a dog that I'd prefer not ride with me in the cab so the shell was a plus for me, though I too prefer the looks without.

I'm pretty happy with the find, however wish I would have looked into the differential whine a little more... It has a worn out pinion bearing, so its in the shop getting re-built. Also getting new shocks, and a bunch of other service stuff to make sure it will last. All in all I got a good deal on the purchase and the $1k spent at the shop should provide better service for years to come... I hope.

Got it back and all is quiet now, replaced the ring and pinion and all bearings.

I ordered the PIE aux input adapter after reading about some success with the CD6 in dash changer (PIE says this is not compatible). Hope to have it in next week.

New shocks made a big improvement and I'm going to replace the tires shortly, probably Cooper AT3's.

Got new Toyo AT's installed today. Really like them so far.

Anyone have a stock grill insert they want to sell?? I'm not really a fan of the billet insert currently on the truck.
