LED's under door frame

Tied them into the existing wiring for running board lights. You can see the reflection of them in the nerf bar in the video but it's not noticeable in person. They throw out a LOT of light. More than you can tell in the video...

Thanks. Just hope they hold up to the elements. I've bought some before & they held up fine but this was a different brand & the wires arent hard wired to the strip, they just plug into it. I dont like it but, not much I could do about it since I got them off ebay. I slapped a little silicon around the end hoping that helps.

that's w/ 2 cheap 12" strips and they are pretty bright. If you bought better quality 6" strips you could probably get close to the same amount of light. I've still got to do the other side. I wish I had done this on my older trucks too b/c it always seems like it never fails, your loading up from a day of hunting its pitch black dark in the woods and you open your door and something important rolls out or you drop it... gotta find the flash light, dig around.. lol...

Plus I know a lot of newer models have them built in under the mirror and I just liked the way it looked/worked.

And to clarify to any Police friends on here, since mine tried to remind me yesterday at church... they are only on when you unlock, or open the door. They are not ground effects and do not run all the time. Works just like the dome light lol... So they are not illegal.

I did this mod a while ago too, but I used some white oval trailer lights. When i took my running boards off i missed my puddle lamps! I went with the trailer lights because the are completely sealed... Had them on for about 2 years with not a single problem!

update on this, DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH THE AUTO WASH if you do this... haha.. mine are gone now Not a real big deal since I only spend like $12 on them.

Going to get some more and put them somewhere else so they are more out of the way.

That sucks, well mine are still going strong! You should give white 18 wheeler lights a try...
