finally I have a/c

hi y'all havent really had a problem since I havent really been driving my f150 since december.

the a/c had never worked since I bought it in august 2009.

this summer I had took my truck to MIDAS to do the free a/c check they had me waiting for 2hrs 30mins. when they brought out my truck, they told me my truck had enough freeon but they didnt know why my trucks a/c didnt work. they wanted to charge me $95.00 an hour to diagnose it. I say ok thanks for the check and left.

but today I took my F150 into my college auto tech a/c and heating class. and connected the a/c machine myself.. I recovered 1oz of freeon. vacuum tested, and leak tested the system. recovered 0oz oil, injected 2 or 3 oz of oil(cant remember if 2 or 3). and charged 2lbs of freeon.

started up the truck and performance tested the a/c. Immediatly the a/c worked and went down to 37 degrees Fairenheit.

I found a small leak at the low side port on the accumulator. but it is just the shrater valve so easy fix.

so I dont think the guys at Midas didnt really do there job, or they found it and wanted me to pay $95.00 an hour. IDK.

so if your a/c isnt cooling I would recommend you get a hold of an a/c machine and do it your self or have someone you trust do it.

Agreed. I just replaced every component in my system and still have a leak. I think it is the two bolts connecting the condenser to the accumulator
