Well !!!!

Went to change a light bulb, and broke my truck. FML!!! How the heck do you get the license plate light bulb plastic holders off of the chrome bumper without breaking the plastic! I can swap motors and install suspension but hit the wall when changing a light bulb. Snapped the sucker and the plug that connects to the wiring harness is a mystery to unclip.

HELP! Hahaha

What if I told you that all you need to do is reach behind the bumper and twist it 1/4 turn ccw? No need to remove plastic at all.

^^^that's it. counter clockwise turn and it pops out. Then pull the bulb straight out, replace and put back.

My buddy got some for his doodge out of the pick-n-pull for free a couple weeks ago, stealership is always my last option.

Yeah, try getting them out of a bumper at the pick and pull is just as bad, the clips still break frequently. You might have to go through 10 or 12 until you manage to get two out that don't break the clips. Believe me I have tried and I was extremely careful to not break them. Mine are actually the black plastic ones with out the chrome covers.

You have the same problem with all of the harness connector clips, especially on lamp sockets due to the high heat passed on to them from the bulbs. You try and bend them out just enough to clear the ramp and SNAP, there goes another connector.

Ford made these parts to go together and stay together but don't expect them to be able to be disconnected.

Try removing that plastic trim piece where the tow ball goes through the bumper, and you will see what I mean.
