ok, ill try that too.

im just going to extend them till they put a little pressure on both axles. so that they are snug and wont create any vibrations or anything. i know what you are talking about, but im not doing serious drag racing, so think this way will be fine for me.

im pretty sure the flexalite kit removes the stock shroud because it is dual fan kit and there is no way to use 2 fans with the stock shroud.

I found a great deal on ebay for a used flex a lite fan kit. I uses its own shroud and has a bracket for the IC tank to mount in the stock location. When the kit comes in I have to see if its the updated controller from FAL. If not I am going to upgrade it to the new style and I will be upgrading the fuse block wire/holder cause I have heard they have problems with them melting. I just need to figure out when I want the fans to come on when the coolant hits a certain temp.

Do you know what the stock thermostat is on the N/A 5.4L? What ever it is I will probably set the fans to run at 60% 5* hotter over stock t stat. Then the fans run 100% at 10* over stock t stat.

so since we are running boost are you going to change to the 180* t stat? and Should I? I want to run about 10-12#'s of boost. Back to op

I like the look of pro-comps and rcd's trac bars. I will be doing light crawling so I might go with heim joints at both ends. Just need to find a way to set them all up.

to tell you the truth, i dont know what t stat im running, i think its 190 because my temps stay around 186-192 and thats without any fan.

i looked at the rcd's, but they dont have any hiem joints, and they are good for offroading i guess, so im betting that these that i have are even better because i have one heim joint.
im sure those superlift ones will work fine, but i like the look of long bars mounted underneath my truck, it just looks badass!

heres a short video i made. i tried to stall up the truck but it just broke loose. and i didnt even get into boost on this video. i dont have any blocks and i am only running with a AAL. so that also could contribute to me not having alot of wrap.
im going to make another when i am in boost.

ok, heres another video. the road was wet so it broke loose even at 1/2 throttle, just imagine
how much worse it would be if the roads were dry!

str8t your truck has more squat than axle wrap like I kind of figured. A tip for you once you get them installed, snug them up so that the t bars are the shortest possible. This will help push the axle more straight up then push it back when the rear suspension of your truck flexes. Also heim joints don't do well in offorading where water, mud, or sand is present. When one or all 3 them is present it eats heim joints for breakfast.

edit I just saw your second video. Do one from the rear of the axle. So you can see the rear leaf pack and the axle at the same time.

Interesting read as I would have thought hem joints were the way to go. Would they then not be the best choice for articulation??

Also, I would have thought the opposite about your adjustment recommendation. Under acceleration, the pinion (front of the axle) pitches up. Seems you want to adjust the bars as long as possible to prevent this pitching moment as much as possible??
