Brake problems

I'm having a surge problem with my brake pedal. It started all of a sudden coming up to a stop sign. Pedal will go way down then pulse till I stop. If I brake real slow I have great pedal. Not loosing any fluid. I thought I had a bad caliper so I replaced both. That made no difference. Could it be the master?? I also thought maybe a bad rotor but it came on all of a sudden. Any input would be great thanks guys.

I have read that the rubber in the brake lines soften up after time (and expand) and will do this. Solution would be new brake lines at least... steel braided brakes lines to last longer (which I plan on doing in the spring).

Haven't had this problem so much myself, but I know it can happen. I'm sure someone else will chime in to add more.

Thanks a million I will give that a shot. Truck has 173000 miles on it so it can't hurt.

Warped rotors can cause a pulsating pedal. Rear drum brakes that are worn and or not adjusted out enough will cause a pedal to go down farther.

Just put idicater on rotor and all runs within .004. I don't think rotors are problem.

If it has the ABS sensor in the diff, pull it, clean it, or replace it. It sounds like your ABS is kicking in.

Turns out it was the ABS sensor. Now I just have to bleed the system and all should be good. Thanks for the input guys!!
