Tailgate repair

has anyone else had an issue of the Left side tailgate pivot (hinge) rusting out?

if so how did you fix it? or did you have to repace the tailgate..?

the hinges on mine are a separate piece i think you can just replace those

the outside coupler is part of the tailgate, you can only buy one with a tailgate..

so i ended up making my own out of 1.5" exhaust pipe..

I have the same problem; the pivot on the left side of the tailgate (NOT the hinge part the is attached to the truck bed) has rusted away. There must be a way to fix it short of buying a new tailgate. HELP!
