stock alternator

anybody know what the stock amps are for the stock alternator? cant find it anywhere on google

all i could find was 80 amps. is that right i found that on page 45 why i looked that far idk i must be bored

It may depend on options. My 2001 Expd is listed as 130 amp.

From what I could find it looks like 130 with towing package.

Appears to be around 1500 - 2000 rpm.

Don't know what your question basis is but no, the full output cannot occurr until the rpm is well up to at least 2000 engine rpm.
The alternator is turning much faster due to pully ratio.
Any alternator rating max is for just a short time because of over heating.
They are not designed to run anywhere near that level for very long.
Reason is the battery recharge starts out at a high rate if the discharge is deep enough but recovers and tapers down quite fast with a good battery hence the time the alternator output is high is not all that long.
If some after market high drain current application is being done such as high power amplifiers, then your into a whole other application that requires special considerations.
I might as well add that doing under drive pullies in an attempt to get more throttle response can bring on under charge and low output at idle and low road speeds depending on the load on the system..

the reason in asking is that i plan on puting more lights on my truck, 2 12'' subs, new head unit, and a train horn, i think i can just upgrade my alternator abnd it be ok

im looking at a Bosch Alternator at the moment what are the others?

Stock should be 90A, towing package is 130A.

If you have the 90A and you are going to upgrade, find a good one >150A that fits your budget. Never hurts to be excessive

i have a towing package so mine is 130
