GEM module + water leak

so I just had my GEM module replaced, and it had gone to crap from water leak. I really REALLY dont want to have it done again. got 4x4 back and got rid of a lot of annoying problems. thing is, my door doesnt match my model year due to a wreck, so it wont seal correctly. Is there anything I can do to protect it until I get the new door? My boss said to wrap it in tin foil, but i told him he was a moron. any suggestions?

i had the same problem on my passenger side door, i just got some storm door weather striping and placed it behind the door seal, like a spacer and it solved my problem until I got the right door.

I would do that but there's a dent at the top of the door closed with expandofoam and I think that's where water gets in. So if possible I'd like to seal the actual space around the module or something. Any suggestions? Can I wrap it in somthing?

hmmm i wouldnt wrap it. heres another option: there is a product called flex seal, i use this stuff all the time for everything, i would spray it over the top of that foam (just a thin even layer) and it should seal it:

around here i can buy this stuff at lowes, target ,and walmart
