check engine light and rough idle after car wash??

Hello all, I just got a 2001 4x4, 5.4 and after a couple of weeks of driving, I took it to the car wash and lightly hosed off the engine. I now get a "check engine soon" warning light and have noticed the idle is rough. I am guessing I got some water somewhere it should not be, coils, sensor or something. I am thinking I go drive it on the highway to get the engine good and warm and see it the checker store will let me read the codes and see if I can get it back to running normal. Maybe I need to disconnect the battery to rest the computer stuff?? Anyone else had this issue or some advice? Thanks in advance and I am excited to me a forum member with you guys (and other gals).

You may need to take the cops/boots out and dry the plug wells.....they're on the top side of the motor...

Thanks guys, I just finished lunch and have the hood open and in the sun. I have an air compressor and will try blowing out the plug wells.

Got it fixed. Went to checker first and ran codes. Had misfire codes for cylinder #7 & #8. Checked #8 first, the easiest to access. Looked dry, but dirty, cleaned it up with carb cleaner and WD40, then gooped it up with dielectric grease on both ends. A trip back to checker showed only #7 cylinder still had a misfire, so my friend who helped me tried wiggling the #7 boot some and got the code to clear and the truck now runs fine. Thanks to all, glad I did not do any more damage.
