New guy, introduction and question.

Hey guys I'm new here and have a question. I have a 1998 F150, which I bought back in 2005 when it had 28k miles. As of today it has 53k miles on it. I replaced the oil filter lines as it was leaking last may. I ended up buying the brand name Dorman from summit, and now this one is leaking after only 7 months! They have a limited lifetime warrany so I can return to summit and purchase another one. But really is there a better alternative? I was wondering about the kit in the link I posted below as it has different hose lines. Thanks for the help!

I would order up better lines. The adapters themselves should be fine. You just need to know what type ends you need.

Good idea, seems these always leak where the rubber lines are crimped to the metal part.

You could take the deal to a hose place and have some hose custom made for it. All the stock ones leak-mine leaks or it "sweats" oil.. I just wipe it down every once in a while with a solvent soaked rag and its fine. Doesent leak to the point it drip or anything like that. I can live with it.

Usually Dorman is a pretty decent OE supplier, I'd take advantage of the warranty first. Really how much better/worse can another brand be. Try getting your money's worth first, just my opinion.

Yeah that's what I'm going to do, it's got a limited lifetime warranty, so I'll just order another and send the crappy one back to summit.
