Ok, went out to fire the beast up for the morning drive and no start. It turns over fine, but the theft light is blinking, the odometer has dashes instead of numbers. It ran great when I parked it last night. I will have to have it towed to the stealership when I get home for work I guess. Any idea what I am looking at? Thanks! Happy Friday!

That little bit of info is hard to go on...Is it doing anything else? Sounds like the ECU at this point.

It turns over but no start. Fwiw, I don't have my Gryphon installed right now. Its been out of the truck for 2 months. The theft light blinks....I am at work right now, so I don't have access to it. I tried the extra set of keys, no dice with those either. Its a 4.6 liter, 2002, 150,000 miles. Had the fuel pump replaced 4 months ago...other than that pretty trouble free..all regular maintenance done..

Have you ever replaced the alternator...particularly the voltage regulator? Did the odometer work OK until you turned it over? That replaced fuel pump is suspect too but it seems like an electrical gremlin...

When i first get in the truck and put the key in, the odometer reads numbers..after I try and start it, the odometer goes to dashes...anyone got ideas? I just disconnected the battery..going to let it sit for 30 minutes..

Try this. Turn on the key to run position and let it there for several minutes and see if it flashes a two digit code.
If yes what is it.

Thanks guys for the hints though. I tried searching during my off time today at work, but we have plans to go out of town this weekend. I just didn't have the time to chase this down...

Check fuse #30. My truck did the same thing a few weeks ago and it was the #30 and a coil pack.

I was just about to say, check the fuses... I read of one today. Had nearly the same symptoms except it would start but issues with the dash readout

I did check the fuses last night, they were all ok. I talked to the dealership this morning, they said it started up fine first thing this morning (of course), so they pulled it into the service port and shut it off. Then it would not start again. Let it sit for awhile and tried it again, then it did start. Pulled it into the work bay to look at it..so I will see what they come up with.

Right about that..maybe a little more with taxes. Glad I had right about that in savings...time to start over!
