My new $750 F150 4x4
The spongy brakes are probably bad lines. They get old and expand. The exhaust leak will typically be at the passenger side manifold. It will at the least need a new gasket and studs as they are more than likely rusted off. Not a bad looking truck.
Took a clean bumper off a 99 f150 and it cost $45.
Wasn't being picky needed to get rid of the wood 4x4.
The city I live in writes tickets for burned out license plate lights. The police could have issued tickets that exceeded the cost of the truck if I drove it home in the condition I bought it.
Starting, stopping and legally required operating equipment are first repair items.Hopefully by spring the more cosmetic stuff will get done.

Congrats on the find, but ive noticed two things...As far as i know, and i may be wrong, but it doesnt say triton v8 under the F150 XLT badge on the fenders, and the tailpipe exits before the passenger rear tire...Both indicators of the 6cyl...of course thats ok as long as it runs good...

Sure it is a 4.6l changed the water pump and thermostat.
The exhaust was poorly replaced recently.Spent some time today mig welding the leaking clamped together system.A lot less rattles and the annoying tick of an exhaust leak is gone also .
Spent the last few hours trying to set the timing on a Mercedes V8 with variable cam timing 4 overhead cams and a chain that appears to have stretched. The ****ing thing appears to be half a tooth off no matter what I do.Should have left well enough alone after the first time.If I don't work on the old lady's stuff now and again my projects become a topic of debate.

Good find man. That looks like a 97/98 2 wheel drive bumper though. Keep up the work on it. If you decide you want a programmer for it let me know. I have one for mine that I had on my truck for about 2 days then deployed. Now running a different set up, so not gonna use it. Look forward to seeing it cleaned up and getting taken care of.
