5.0 coyote swap in 97-03 f150?
I used to serve too but I was in the Canadian forces. I've dine a few tours but I'm out now. Good luck and come back safe.
As for your supercharger choice, I suggest you look at the edelbrock eforce. I have one on my 08 mustang gt and couldn't be happier, around 450 rwhp and can still get 27-29 mpg on the highway.

I could do that but then I would be just like everyone else. I haven't seen too many 10th gen trucks with the new 5.0 much less one with a S/C. But the main reason is that this was my dad's truck before he passed away and it's my first truck, so it has sentimental value to me. It's paid off and it's super clean, no tears/rips inside and no problems at all. It's a 2001 with 91,000 miles.
Considering how the 5.0 makes my truck get up and go, it should make the smaller, lighter earlier body style scoot pretty well.

I have the underpowered 4.2 It has a few mods, CAI, throttle body spacer, flowmaster with a 5 in tip dumped, and a JET performance tune. Really noticed the performance the mods made but it will never sound or perform as good as V8.

Nice!! Yeah the Canadians were here on this fob. Camp Nathan Smith. CNS was named after a Canadian soldier. Good soldiers them Canadians. Yeah I'll do that, I'm still indecisive on what S/C I want but I'll keep it in mind. I seen the 2.8 KB on the new 5.0 in mustang mags and it puts out 600 rwhp on 8 or 10 psi
Ya I forgot about the big blowers that KB puts out. Ya they may be better suited with the fire breathing 5.0.
Both me and Centralcali have the 4.2. I can't speak for Centralcali bit I'm sure he's also wanting the "cool factor" of the coyote swap too. Not to mention those 400 ponies are stock form. The 4.6 2v would need major mods to get to 400 hp NA, some of the 4.6 3v guys needed to spend a few grand to get there. If I was to spend the money on a stroker kit, it would be going in my mustang lol which I might do down the road. Right now I'm happy with my car doing high 11's in the 1/4 mile lol

Wow you've been out here, that's pretty cool lol. Lot's of changes have been made since the US took over last year, I go home on leave like in 2 weeks, oh man I can't wait!!! Yeah I've been reading a lot of the mustang mags and the KB looks sick and puts out some outrageous numbers!!

Ok after doing some more research I think the PATS system may be an obstacle but I think I may have figured it out...
Here goes, the 5.0 coyote harness only has a few connections to be operational, 12 volt key on, fuel pump, tach (optional) Starter signal (optional), Neutral position switch.
I'm not exactly about this but I'm going to contact ford racing and ask if most of these are optional if my stock PCM remains in place. The way I see it (chime in if I'm wrong) the factory PCM can stay in place to control the transmission but I'd have to move to TPS to the drive by wire gas pedal signal for the PCM to control the transmission. I also plan to route the factory 4.2 sensors oil, temp, volts, fuel, tach... They should be functional because the PATS system pairs the PCM and Gauges together for the chipped key... Theoretically this could work but there are a few things I'm not sure about....
If I set off the PATS is it going to cause a no run/start situation?
Will the tach signal even work? I've read that the PCM uses crank, cam, and coil together to form a tach signal. If that's true, then is the PCM tach output a conventional tach signal?
If someone with a wealth of knowledge on the PATS system or transmission control shed some light on this? Thanks in advance
