Does anyone know of any manufacturers of a rebuild kit for the 5.4? Everything I can find includes pistons and all I need is rings, bearings, and gaskets. Basically an overhaul.

 

Not sure about the 5.4L but for most kits I have seen, an overhaul means new pistons and rings. Why tear it down that far and use the old pistons? Have you measured the bore?

 

I bought it disassembled and for me to repair it is just about as much to overhaul. It doesn't need any machine work, just the guy who was working on it before I bought it, had no idea what he was doing and just tore it apart. Everything is within spec for a simple re-ring and new bearings, so I'm trying to price everything in a kit versus individually and was wondering if anyone has come across any. Before I bought it, used engines were cheap and plentiful and the day I purchased it, they seemed to change to gold, so I'm just weighing options.
