So last night i was cruising with my buddy and after he floored it past me, we pulled up to a stop light and i kinda gave it a little gas to make a nice roar out of the exhaust and my truck just shut off?! any ideas of what this cud be? i had to put it into park and start it back up. im kinda befuddled. <--(big word of the day!)

 

Did you have the wheel turned at all? Sometimes if it is in drive, and you turn the wheel, the power steering pump can make the rpm's drop so low that it shuts off...

 

no i was going straight? weird huh?

 

Mine did that and it was a dirty throttle body

 

i've had a coil do that to me. after sitting for over an hour and not starting i got it towed. Started right up. @#$@. took another month for it to hiccup again in a way i could figure it out and fix it.

 

hmmm ok well i cleaned the throttle body and see if it happens again but thanks for the help!

 

Yeah could be a coil, happened to my truck before.
