ahun98's transformation thread

Well I figured I'd do one of these sense I have made a few mods to my truck and with yalls help I can do many more
Oh and by the way this was all payed for by me not my parents(just had to say that
Here is the truck when my grandpa gave it to me

Bought a contender toolbox for pretty cheap, brand new

Then I needed a system bad so I got 2 10 Jl subs with the custom box installed and new JL front speakers with a Kenwood Radio

The my friend gave me his LED brake light which he didn't want

Took off the bug deflector. Then I just had to do the 98 to 99-03 bumper conversion with the 4wd valance(had to paint valance black and grille surround white)

And I know that yall have seen me posting all of my questions about which lift kit to go with and I know that it's been annoying but I finally decided and went with the Fabtech 7.5 inch with some used 315/75R16 Pro Comp mud terrains which will go on I'm hopinf this friday but here are the pics

I will be staying on stock rims for now until I can save up and just get new tires and rims

Well thats it for right now so please give me some feedback and suggestions on what to do next!!

Should be looking good man! That lift is gonna look nice on there for sure. I'd take the door molding off next, it'll give it a much cleaner look.

So I decided to go with the professional install on the lift because I dont have the tools and my friend is not reliable. Ive got an appointment on Tuesday for thee lift, tires, and alignment and its gonna run me pretty close to 600 so I guess thats pretty good. Pics WILL go up when its all done. This waiting is gonna kill me!!!

The lift kit was installed today!!! The only thing is, is that when they went to mount the tires, one of them had a tear on the sidewall. So I was SOL. They guy said that he could order me some tires and have them in by tomorrow morning so the first thing that came out of my mouth was How much? We looked at some tires and decided to get brand new BFGoodrich KM2's 315/75R16 shipped and installed for 1300!!! They come in tomorrow at 9:30 so I left my truck at the shop and they are going to install them right when they get in. I hate the waiting!!! Pics will go up as soon as possible!!

Cali - He's got a 2wd like me and pizzaman711, and thejake1989 used to have one too. Just because you are 2wd doesn't mean you can't lift it and have some fun.

Ahun - I'm assuming you bought the Pro Comps used then with the tear. Sucks to hear but can't wait to see some finished pics man. Might need some small spacers with stock rims. I rubbed a bit when I had my stockers on for a day or so.

Oh damn I didn't know that it was a 2WD. I want a lifted truck eventually. I drove a F250 with an 8 inch lift for a month and I loved it!!!

So the tires came in this morning but they were Mickey Thompson MTZ which I am not gunna complain about because they look damn good! After they put the tires on it we went to drive it to get it aligned and on the way we had to pull over because the rims made the tires rub the spindles so bad that they were smoking!! We had it towed to the shop and the tire guy said that he could have rims in by friday and they are PACER 164P - LT Mod rims and they are 10 inches wide and will work with the lift. The tires are still drivable and no one will see where they rubbed.

AND TO JUST LET OTHERS KNOW, YOU CAN NOT USE STOCK RIMS WITH THIS FABTECH LIFT!!! I WAS HARD HEADED AND DIDNT LISTEN. GET NEW RIMS!!

Well here are the pics without the alignment on stock rims.

And here is one next to my sister Camry.

looking good! Its gonna be sweet when ya get it all put together. thats some bad luck you been having, but it sounds like you were able to go ahead a spend the extra $ required to do it right instead of going cheap and just trying getting by.

Yea I dont know what I did to get this crappy luck but I was not going to try spacers and have it all weird. I just thought, well I was going to get new wheels anyway, might as well just do it now.
