Fuel pump going bad???
Fuel pump going bad???
I was checking my truck for dtc codes with my programmer and I kept getting this code showing up.
P0232 Fuel Pump Secondary Circuit High
I thought it might have been a result of the low fuel light coming on. I put in about 1/2 a tank, scanned for codes, P0232 came back. I cleared it and drove home. After driving to work I checked again and P0232 came back. Is this due to the fuel pump going bad or something else?

The code P0232 is in most cases caused by a bad fuel pump and or the power supply to it. Check the circuit for sure.
Check relay for heat.
Check pump pressure.
Check regulator operation.
Some Info :
X190 CONTINUOUS MEMORY DTC P0232: CHECK FUEL PUMP SECONDARY CIRCUITS
Fuel pump circuit activated when PCM expected circuit to be off (i.e. fuel system test or prime procedure).
Inertia fuel shutoff switch was tripped, then reset.
Open circuit in or between the fuel pump and fuel pump monitor (FPM) circuit at the PCM.
Poor fuel pump ground.
FPM or FP PWR circuit short to power.
Fuel pump relay contacts stuck closed.
Engine stall due to excessive load.
Note: If Continuous Memory DTC P0230 is also present and has not been diagnosed, GO to X200 (to check primary circuit first).
Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0232 indicates that one of the following intermittent conditions has occurred:
* Connect scan tool.
* Key on, engine off.
* Access FPM PID.
* Observe the FPM PID for an indication of a fault while performing the following (the FPM PID will turn ON when an open or short to power is detected):
For 4.6L Mustang: shake, wiggle, bend the FP PWR circuit between the CCRM pin 5 and the low speed fuel pump relay and from the relay to the fuel pump.
For all except the 4.6L Mustang: shake, wiggle, bend the FP PWR circuit between the CCRM pin 5 and the fuel pump.
Shake, wiggle, bend the fuel pump ground circuit from the fuel pump to ground.
Lightly tap the fuel pump, CCRM and inertia fuel shutoff switch to simulate road shock.
Lightly tap the low speed fuel pump relay (4.6L Mustang).
Shake, wiggle, bend the FPM circuit between the PCM and the splice to the FP PWR circuit.
* Key off.
* Inspect the fuel pump vehicle harness connector and the fuel pump ground for corrosion, damaged pins.
