I don't know why I feel the need to defend myself here, but in order for this to bend, it will either have to stretch the metal, break the welds, or pull the frame rails in. Yeah, I can see my welds possibly failing, but I didn't have it happen when I fabbed up my my motorcycle trailer. As far as side to side movement, that is why I offset the two crossbeams - its just like gusseting. Also, the two crossbeams are flush up against the factory welded front bumber brackets so it can't be pulled out of the front.

Just to make myself feel a little better, I may add a 3rd cross beam to make up for the possibility of weak metal.

I think this is stronger than a 3/8" cable, don't you?

NO need to defend yourself. I know you tested it. We were just giving our opinion on what would make your set up even stronger. You'll never know what your going to use that winch for.

Good point! I want to be able to rescue a buss full of supermodels if needed. Better add that 3rd crossbeam!

I was thinking just a few 90 degree gussets off the tube for the receiver and then where it connects to the frame and you'd be good to go.

I'm not going to comment on the mount, but the way your cable is covered in the pic.

Congratulations for having the sense to put a blanket on the cable, alot of people don't do that. Now the only problem is you need to hang it over the cable on the end with the hook or close to it(a few feet back). The purpose of the blanket is to slow down the cable in case it breaks. If it breaks close at the drum it will fly away from the winch, but if it comes off at the hook end you will find yourself/truck on the business end of a bull whip. That is how people get hurt/killed. So please when you winch hang your weight about 5-10 ft from the hook.

Happy Winching-good job!

This will be my only response to you since arguing with 'tards on the Internet is pointless.

Holy sweet Jesus, you're a jackass. Oh and 3/6? Isn't that like 1/2"? Maybe you meant 3/16"? Don't know don't, don't care.

It's hard to be insulted by a failing school boy virgin who not only can't use proper grammar or spell, but doesn't know what **** are:

Pretty cool setup. A front reciever would also be nice for manuvering trailers into tight spots. The seats in the bed are truly classic!
