98 to 99+ bumper conversion

I'd like to know where i can find all the necessary part numbers for the conversion (brackets, etc). I plan on only running the bumper itself with no valences, then mounting a lightning bumper in front of that. Please post up either a link to a tutorial with part numbers or paste them here. I've searched all over the place and come up empty.

I know that I need the 99+ grille as well to compliment the bumper as well as the fog assembly/lights.

don't lie, just say that you are to lazy to search. less than 15 seconds worth of searching gave me this.

IIRC you can't put a Lightning cover in front of the stock bumper. If you want the Lightning cover, its got its own mounts and stuff. So choose either the 99+ bumper or the Lightning cover. The latter is hard to find/expensive.

go to a salvage yard or junk yard for all the brackets, lmc has a primer bumper 99-03 f150 for 99.99 plus 20.00 s&h. chrome is more expensive.

I did the conversion too, I got mine for 40.00 everything but it was damaged so i fixed it to where it would fit my truck without any rubbing and to accept the lightning bumper cover.

as for the brackets they are interchangeable without any problems

So the cover does indeed fit over the standard 99+ bumper?

your front end looks good, but it looks out of whack since the rest of the truck doesnt "line up"

yes you can. you have to have a 99-02 bumper with no upper/lower valence. the instructions tell you to take those off when putting the lightning bumper cover on, which is why i'm just looking for the 99-02 bumper itself and the part numbers for all the necessary bracketry to make it bolt up to my 98.

I went through 10 pages of results on multiple search terms. Someone will one day thank me for making this thread, and I'm ok with that fact it won't be you!

I don't like the harley front end at all. Nobody knows this? Was trying to avoid calling the dealer for part numbers/being that guy that's not going to get the parts from them.

Easy there, let's act mature now and be somewhat professional. You asked for help, he tried to help, you don't have many posts and people that been on forums know that there are people who never heard of a search function on forums. You could have easily said "Thanks for trying to help, but I already searched the forums and went through that thread and there weren't any part numbers."

Someone might thank him one day for posting that thread in here, and I'm sure he's ok with that fact it won't be you. Just relax and if you ask for help, don't be rude about it.

why do you need part numbers for brackets and the like. Just go to the wrecker and pull it all off. Its not like they are a wear item. Get your hands dirty and save a bunch of money.

tried to help by being a ****? I'd rather him not reply at all. I've set up more forums than he's probably been a member of, I don't need the hassle. I asked a question, nicely, stating that I searched for part numbers and came up completely empty, then he insults me, calls me lazy and posts up a link to a thread that's no help with no part numbers.

Lastly, I did ask for help, and it wasn't rude. I treat others how they treat me. Don't want to be talked back to, don't give me a reason to. No point in chiming into this thread, unless you have useful information.

because I work almost 70 hours a week and don't have time to go to a junk yard.
