fuel economy with programmer

fuel economy with programmer

hey guys been looking at a sct xcal3 from troyer performance. anyone know what gas mileage you get with a economy tune and 35s with the 5.4? not really expecting alot just wondering if its worth wasting a custom tune on it

i got 12mpg with 93 vmp economy on my 4.6 with 35s but with the 93 vmp performance tune i get 14 mpg with my 4.6 and 35's. you can count from 12-14

thats better than what i get now lol... actually im not sure i got 180 miles and still had a quarter of a tank left so that put me probably right at 11 of 10. but my speedometer is still off does that through my odometer off also??

You need to correct the speedometer AND odometer with a different gear on the speed sensor.

yea i know. i have know idea what mpg im at ... im getting a programmer soon opefully a early bday present... hopefully

You could also just do the math. If the speedo is off by 5 percent, so is the odometer. And you have to see how many gallons of gas you buy and divide how many miles you drove by that.

i fgured it up once and got 11.7mpg but that was with the quarter of a tank left and i figured for a hole tank.. so im guessing 12-12.5 mpg

oh well. i tow a trailer alot and will be hauling the duck blinds around soon so im gonna get one for the towing tune and get a economy tune and a performance tune.

Replace the gear on the speed sensor FIRST, not only will that correct the speedo/odo, the PCM needs a correct speed input or the tune will be screwed up. It's easy and cheap to do.

so I missed calculated.... I multiplied by. 5 which is 50%5 not 5% so I only get 10.5mpg :'( I was so pumped
