Yeah the speed sensor swap will definitely do the trick for you! It will also get your shift points back to the correct spots so that should also help with your gas mileage. But only 180 miles? Last time I ran a full tank through mine it was pretty close to 300.
i had a quarter tank left... probably 200-230 if i ran it out
How does the fuel tank size help you calculate gas mileage? Do you know how to calculate it correctly?
It doesn't require higher mathematics - all you need to know is how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Go out onto a highway that has mile markers. When passing a mile marker, zero your trip meter. Drive at least 10 miles and note how many miles the trip meter says you have driven. Divide the actual miles driven by the trip meter reading, this will be your correction factor.
Example - 10 miles as per the mile markers, 9.2 on the trip meter. 10/9.2=1.09. WRITE THAT DOWN.
Now, go fill your gas tank and zero the trip meter. Run through at least 1/2 a tank and go fill it up again. WRITE DOWN what the trip meter says, and how many gallons it took. Let's say you drove 202.5 miles according to the trip meter and you put 18.35 gallons in.
Multiply 202.5 miles by 1.09. This equals 220.7, this is how many miles you ACTUALLY drove. NOW, divide that by 18.35 gallons used. That equals 12.0 miles per gallon.

i do it simpler than that... i fill up and drive till fuel light comes on. multiply how many miles i drove by .05 csause thats how much my speedo is off then add that t my miles and divide by how many gallons i used. same way you do but instead of half a tank i epty it out almost so im not using higher mechanics im just checking double checking checking again to make sure all my calculations are right... and the reason my mpg is so low is cause from my house to school i have to go through a 4 way stop 2 redlights and 2 stop signs. 4wayu is flat red ligts are to but directly whe i turn after the second red light i gotta go up hills the rest of the way... i live in tn and its very hilly. i can drive to paris tn from where i live though and get close to 300 miles on a tank if nit more. its just stop and go traffic that kills me
