Question about a mirror

I am working on fixing up my girlfriends 02 F-150. she has the XLT with the chrome covers on the mirrors. the chrome on the drivers side is completely shot. i just wanted to know how these pieces are attached so that i make sure i am buying the right replacement. i found a pretty good deal on a set for $40. they attach to the mirror using 3M double sided tape. if that's how the factory does it then i will go ahead and get them. thanks for the info!

Mine from the harley are clipped in. No double side tape used.

there is some double sided foam like tape in addition to the 3 or 4 clips holding it on.

thank you for the tips. now the question is where do I find the oem caps. It appears that Ford wont sell them separate. and all i can find inline are covers that just stick on with double sided tape. Is there a decent aftermarket brand that anyone has used that you can recommend? thanks again!

If the set you're looking at, the $40 ones are what you want, then I'd scoop them up! Almost guaranteed the covers will clip on as the originals do but check if you are able. If it was me, go visit a junkyard too, see if they have any.

the 2000 lighting mirror cap will fit if u have turn signal mirrors with the light on the side of the mirror, and yes the lightning grille will fit.
