2001 f150 krsc 4x4 wont spin tires past 1500 rpm?
I have a 2001 f150 king ranch sc 4x4. the problem i am having was today i was playing around offroad and my truck would not spin the tires pass 1500 rpm. the truck runs and drives great. it also did this in 4h. it has 3.55ls a 5.4 and a 4r70w. any thoughts would be appreciated. thanks
LOL... I second that one! It would seem to me the King Ranch has a personality and does not wish to be abused. Concrete is a smoother surface offering less resistance than gravel/dirt (depending on compaction, obviously) which is my first thought.
My question is..... why would you want to do this to a KRSC in the first place? Just for the fun of it??

Put race gas man, 115 octane. Be a rocketship then.

Doubt your in 4H on the pavement... much harder to spin all 4 tires than just 2 with a LS. I will say, I know for sure that my truck in 4H can turn all 4 tires on gravel mostly through 1st gear. Loose gravel.

I haven't put it in 4h on pavement. i can punch the gas and it will spin the tires way passed 1500 on pavement in 2h. this 1500, "rev limiter" i'll call it, occured while in 2h and 4h in a loose clay/sand pit. the truck should have been going nuts flinging stuff everywhere, but didn't. i have cut donuts in dry hard texas dirt and it has spun above 1500rpms. oh and a truck is a truck, i work mine like it should and i wheel it, she is still a truck, just with kick a$$ interior. i was mainly concerned that it wasn't like some wierd tranny thing or sensor. thanks for all the input, it is much appreciated

As a matter of fact i am married with a son. I take pride in all my vehicles. I am not some silver spoon kid. I work very hard for everything i own and i take very excellent care of my stuff. i dont tear it up or do anything to(minus the donut, but that was once and it was a little firefighter testosterone of whos truck would do the best). i mean its a truck so she pulls trailers and does it on whatever terrain it needs to be done. Im not some city slicker with a truck just cause so he can show it off. if i didn't have to drive through the pit i wouldn't have. this is the first time its done this, just very odd.
again appreciating all input, thanks so much. i will be pulling some trees and equipment back through there in a week or so. i will see if it occurs again. i was just going through there empty to get a look at the job, wasn't hauling or pulling anything this go round.
thats what i thought at first, however she is running great and wasn't misfiring. had great throttle response it just stopped at 1500. it would've done that all day im sure but the tires had too much grip for them to spin that slow. driving on the road there was no change in acceleration or power. thats why i was wondering if it was a tranny failsafe or something. thanks again everyone.
2) I would fall into that category of city slicker with a show off truck, because I dont have trailers to pull most of the time. I enjoy having a truck, I use it once in a while, but I wanted a truck in case the time comes where I needed one.
3) You should be a little more careful with your vehicle. I am pretty sure it wouldn't last 2 minutes actually wheeling it. You might go off road, but if you actually play hard it wont last.
