Well guys i was riding thru town earlier an i saw a clean 2000-2002f150 stx dark marroon, an it had clear stock headlights!!!??? an i was wondering were can u get these??? I know yall have seen them. Whats yalls thoughts?

Those are the STX/King Ranch heads. You are correct, they are Visteon headlights minus the amber reflector at the bottom.

 

Yup, I love mine... but you SOL they are discontinued!

Notice it says "Visteon" in the bottom right hand corner. Any lights bearing that imprint is worth its weight in gold around here. Sadly ford4life (owner of above picture) killed these unicorns in a retrofit

There were five different types of headlights manufactured from 96-04.

2/96-6/97 = Fluted lens with a retaining bowl. Somewhat common.
6/97-2004 = Fluted lens that came with all basic F-150s. Uber freaking common.
2002-2004 = Round style headlights, Visteon was the manufacturer, used in Lightnings post MY 2002-04. Decently common.
2002-2004 = Visteon flat style, seen above, used in King Ranch and STX post MY 2002-04. Somewhat rare.
2003-2004 = Visteon flat style, with amber reflector to match corners, used in Harley-Davidson MY 2003-2004 only. Very rare.

Because MY 2004 ended almost 8 years ago? Why continue making parts/tools for a body style no longer in production? I'm sure a few Ford dealers still have some, but bring the **** lube to ease the pain.

 

Well why does lmc still manufactor the harley style if they are 400 dollars aside? that makes no sense. an wy wouldnt ford put them on all trim levels? i mean the stx is the cheaper option right? why gor from cheap to high class from stx to kr? i mean theres the xlts fx4s an lairats i mean i think it make no sense at all

 

LMC doesnt manufacture those- they are surplus (I don't know how they got them) Visteon housings from Ford.

Cost. The fluted lens pattern is 10x cheaper and they also want exclusivity for the higher end models.

While the STX was a cheaper option, is was the precursor to the FX2 Sport trim. It had a sporty valance (see siggy) with round fog lights, clear headlights, wheel fender arches, running boards, PTM bumpers, etc.
