bucket seat swap

I want to swap my bench seat out and get some buckets. First of all how hard will this be? Second of all I see many people selling their seats for three hundred bucks or more. Is this really how much it will cost? I looked at pick a part in Indy and their pricing shows about 25 bucks per bucket seat but that is for all cars. Do you think that would apply to trucks to if they have them? This is the pricing sheet. http://www.indypicapart.com/pricing.html

Thanks for any help. Im going on vacation in July and were drivin straight through so a passenger seat that can recline will be really nice.

You need bolts for the console and 4 more seat bolts. Then you just have to tap the holes already in the floor of your truck. It's a very very easy swap

It's easy to swap seats out. Just follow this HowTo, it's for a console, but will show you what you need to do for the bucket passenger seat.

I bought bucket seats for $150 on eBay, and then just took the passenger seat bracket off and put it on the bucket seat.

Got some bucket seats in
Before

After

I know not good pics but I'll get some better ones sometime. I got these seats for $45. The only downside is they are in a bit rough condition. They function just fine though as far as reclining and seat moving forward and backwards. I will get the drivers seat sewn up and get some seat covers and paint the plastic parts gray. After that they will fit in just fine. And they sure are a lot comfortable. Next will be a console!

Ok here is another question guys. The drivers side bucket seat leans a little to the left. I think the seat pan that the cushion sits on is damaged underneath. Is there any way to take it apart and replace the seat pan? Or am I just going to have to get another seat?

I don't see why you can't just buy another seat pan?

Well Im gonna go to the junkyard and see if I can find another drivers side seat opposed to rebuilding this one. Otherwise I may take it to an upholsterer and see if they can redo it. I spend a lot of time in the truck so 200 bucks or so would be worth it to make the seat comfortable.

I have a question regarding the seatbelts. Neither seat had a plug on the bottom of the seat to hook to the plug coming out of the floor of the truck. My bench had a wire with a plug on the end that did. Is this bad?
Another thing is the driver seat has a wire going from the seatbelt to the seat but the passenger side doesn't. What are these wires and plugs for?

I put a seat of leather seats out of a 2000 GTP in mine. Full power and heated. I love it cause the wife drives a GTP and now both vehicles feel the same whenever i drive her car, except for the height lmao

i did the buckets and console swap and i just cut down the 60 portion of my 60/40. i think the wire is for the seat belt dinger and you might throw some washers on that seat to fix the lean lol

Well went to the junkyard today and got a sixty forty split bench. This thing is awesome. It will look even better after I get the exactseatcovers on it. Functionally everything works-lumbar recline sliding backwards forwards. Its all manual though but the grey matches my truck. That tan was driving me insane. Best of all-its comfortable!!!
