Trans/Tcase Questions

I'm doing some research and i have not been able to come up with any answers to these questions.

A little background on what i want to do. I've got an 02 supercrew, 2wd, 5.4. I'm wanting to do a SAS with it to be diferent and for the challenge. I have just about everything figured out except for the trans/tcase part.

Can i run a manual tcase from say a 97 model f150 and a 4wd trans from my same year model? I'm assuming the Maual tcase isn't controled by the computer if i'm wrong about that let me know please. now what will need to change in order for me to run the 4r70w from a 4wd in place of my 2wd model?

any help in this area would be greatly appreciated guys.

and selling this truck and buying a 4wd is not an option because its not what i want to do. i like the challenge and if i'm going to SAS anyways either way, i'm going to see if i can do this trans/tcase swap first.

thanks

You can use your 2wd trans, you just need to replace the output shaft and the tail section so you can bolt the t case up. Im not sure on the t case, I dont think the manual shift has any computer stuff going to it.

Lot of work tho, keep us updated!

yeah i know. the work has never scared me tho haha.

my trans is going to need an overhaul by the time i'm ready to do all this anyways so i figure if its gotta come apart i can change out the tail shaft and get the adapter from junk yard along with the t/case.

then its just a matter of doing the SAS on the front. which is the most of amount of work in itself but i've a number of them in the past so its nothing new to me.
