I want to buy a cap for my truck, but I'm having trouble doing the width on my truck with a tape measurer. I found the length of my bed on my 02 Ford F-150 Extended Cab Short Bed being 6.5 or 6 1/2 inches. I was just wondering does anyone have the same truck as mine with the same bed size, and knows the actual width of the bed. So, I can see If the cap that I want to buy actually fits my truck. I tried measuring It, and It was about alittle over 5 inches. Thank You.

 

according to my 2003 F150 brochure the standard 6.5 bed measures at

58.6 Ft^3
78.8" floor length
50.0" with at wheel humps
65.2" maximum inside width of box
20.0" height with molding

 

Measurement between the inside edge of each bed rail is 62 and 1/4 inches.

 

Ford only offered three bed sizes that year for the light-duty F-150. Most bed cap retailers let you know which one it fits, I've never had to go outside and measure when looking for caps
