2002 SCAB 4x4 4.6 - About 14, mix of city/hwy. LT265-75/16 tires.
Got better mileage - about 16 - with stock P255-70/16 tires. Don't know if its the increased size of the tires, the increased weight of the tires, or a combination of both that's caused the demise...
Wouldn't mind it so bad if the 4.6 actually had enough power to go somewhere but its a "dog" compared to the two 5.4's I've had...

Dude...I so feel you pain!!! I get between 11.5-14.5. My best mileage which was 99.9% highway only netted me 14.9 mpgs!! And this was AFTER cleaning the TB and MAF! So I have never seen 15 mpgs! It seems that no matter what I do i get the same mileage as well. I think its just the 5.4!----DirtySCREW
Even when I do a full hwy run, I can see around 18 mpg at best... Going no faster than 60 mph..
Towing, well, I'm happy when I get 10 mpg...
No matter what, you are plunking down ~ $4 for every 10 to 18 miles you go these days!! Oh, how I remember the days of $.99 / GAL gas! (about 10 years ago!)... As a kid, I do remember $.50 / GAL gas... I'm sure some of you really old timers remember seeing it in glass topped gas pumps!

Just got my '00 ext. cab sport 4x4 with the 5.4l & 3.55 LS last week and am on my 7th tank lol.
Before replacing the O2 sensor, it was a solid 13.1 no matter what! The O2 bumped me up to 14.9.
Then I cleaned my K&N, took a trip from Ark City KS to Seneca KS (Oklahoma border to Nebraska border) and got 16.5!
Coming back I had a Kawasaki 250 in the bed and my buddy driving, he got 15.2.
As a side note, My last truck was a 97 4x4 4.6l. solid 15mpg all the time.

Well its been awhile for me. I've been enjoying the bike, but I have a mildly built 5.4 sitting on 34's and avg 16-17 in the city, and 19-21 with summer blended fuel. Winter blended fuel I get around 14 in the city but get 21-22 on the interstate. I only ruun 93 because of the added timing I can run... It actually helps mileage...
