How much does it weigh??

Ok so some A$$hole in a f150 was screwin with me on the interstate today on my way back from class, so i though F#@$ it ill just leave him. Well that worked up till about 85 and he caught me and passed me and i guess i was on a bit of an incline and couldnt get past about 95, but he could still leave me. The truck was something like an 02 sport 4x4 but it was a regular cab, short bed. I think he probably had a 5.4 with the way he could just leave me, but then i thought, man my truck probably weighs a lot more too. I know that with the truck like it is right now, with me in it, it weighs roughly 5800 lbs. How much would the other truck probably weigh?

on a side note. damn i wish i had the money to build the engine and buy the transmision and diff gears that i want!!!

Not sure on exact numbers but you also got to factor in the other things like yours is an extended cab and you are running a larger size a/t tire. Also you don't know what type of performance mods that the other driver has done to his truck either. Could have been a sleeper with a built lightning motor under the hood. You never know.

yea but idk about all that it could have been, but well never know, but i do know weight has a lot of influence too. thats kinda why i wanna know what that truck should roughly weigh. and i also know that even if his motor was bone stock, unless its a 4.2 it has more hp than mine being that his would have been a pi motor where mine isnt. so even if he had a 4.6 hed have more ponies. i know my truck would weigh more, but by how much? how much is the extended cab worth? 6-800lbs? plus about 200 lbs of ***** in my tool box and a few things in the cab. so that right there would put his truck at 4800 lbs if my numbers are right.

oh and i saw his wheels and tires at a stop light 17" saw blades (stock type) with what looked like 265/70's. but they looked like normal radials, mine are 6 ply 265/70-17's on 2002 fx4's.

so with whatever motor he has, he is almost certainly got more power, is roughly 1000 lbs lighter (can any one confirm this please?) and has lighter weight tires as well.

damn i want a lightning motor! haha

You just can't mess with an 02' Sport edition. Especially if it has the 4.2L. Trust me, I know!

Got a dump or a truck stop nearby that has a scale? Go see what your truck weighs then pull up numbers on what single cab 4x4's are weighing at.

Last time I was at the dump, I think my truck with everthing that is normally in the back and tool box was weighing somewhere around 5600 lbs.

Your speed limited probably kicked in and maybe he didnt have one. He could have been S/C too. God knows I love mine, I am always the one that does the leaving behind. My truck also has no speed limiter. The fastest I have ever gotten it too was 105 (GPS reading), and that was with the lift and tires on it too :o

well thanks to fairlaner it looks like i am about 1000 pounds heavier than that other truck was. but i also think i need to go re weigh my truck. . . hmmm i think its time to take a load of scrap in.

but the limiters on these trucks are set at 100-105 from the factory.... well they should be. i know ive had my dads 5.4 pegged against the needle just past 100 (2002 fx4) and ive had my 4.6 there too without a head wind in the flat but she just doesnt have the ***** i wish she had. dont get me wrong i LOVE my truck.... but some days i want more umph.

and who knows he may have had all kinds of goodies going on... but ive driven the pi 5.4 enough to know that they will walk on a non pi 4.6 but i think the story is gonna be that he had a blower so big it was poking out his hood

I ran mine at the truck pulls and with 1/2 tank of gas, steel hood, stock wheels/tires and plow frame weighed 5814. Its a 5.4 supercab 4x4. I haven't weighed it since I added my lift, new tires and tail gate.
