Console questions.

does anybody have the center console and the over head console out of the expedition? Was the center swap hard? was the over head install easy? is there anything else needed? I was lucky to find a guy in my hometown that has both for sale that match my stock interior

Im fixing to get started working on my truck again I have a lot planed and im gonna finish the interior ( not stereo) before i graduate this summer then finish the bulletproof lift and other body mods this summer.

Anyway sorry back on topic is there anything else i need to do the swap and can i still use my stock 5 disc changer?

Thanks

More info on the Expedition parts ans also info on your seats. There are 2 ways to do an Expedition console install on these trucks. One is basically free (easy install), the other around $300+ (complicated install)...

For the overhead console, I know Patman for sure has done the Expy overhead swap in his truck...I can't think of anyone else that has ATM

The way the 60 portion of the split bench is supported and how they are bolted to the cab floor. There are also different versions of the Expy/Navi console, which is determined by whether the bucket seats had built-in arm rests or not.

Yes,you can still keep the cd changer. The overhead needs the support bracket with it and the center console needs the two brackets that go with the console.

Overhead should remove with nothing more than a screw driver and racket (don't know the exact socket size though).

Rus, the console gauges look sweet. But why'd you choose a narrow top console for non-arm rest seats? J/w

*sorry to thread jack :o*

That's not the narrow top. That is the wide top from a 2002 Expedition. There are no indentations for armrests as the narrow top has.

Oh, I guess it's just how the shadow falls on the side of the console. No worries then.
