open your hood. locate the brake master cylinder. if you dont know its on the firewall on the driver side. there is a connector on the end of it. take that connector off. if there is brake fluid in that switch that the connector connects to replace that switch. you can get it from ford for less than 20 bucks. that will fix your problem 9/10 times

First make sure you've had your cruise control recall done. I had the same problem, ended up being either some loose wires behind the dash or the clockspring. I fixed both at the same time so I'm not sure which one actually solved the problem.

Is the recall done? If not, DO IT. If so, check the harness, there's an inline fuse wrapped up in there. Have you checked the disconnect switch that the harness is connected to for brake fluid leakage?

All you do is by-pass the recall harness to check it. Might take two minutes or so. Yea, just disconnect it and plug the vehicle harness back into the Master cylinder. See if anything works. If not, it's not a recall harness problem.

So you checked all relays that have to do with ?

Resurrecting an old thread.

I had the same issue on my 97 SCab. Back trace your horn wiring. On the 97, it runs down to the front right bumper bracket. The horn wire was routed in front of the bracket and pulled kind of tight. It then proceeded to chafe through the insulation and would ground out intermittently. Re-route and/or repair the wiring and you should be good to go.

What is this recall? When did it come out? I removed my old cruise control because I messed it up with LED's, brought one on eBay and it never worked, no horn or cruise controls, just barely lights up. Guess I bought a recalled harness?

I know how to use Google, thanks buddy.

So do we just go to the dealership and get a new cruise control switch?

No, you put your VIN into the online recall checker.

http://corporate.ford.com/news-cente...ll-information

If you have any open recalls, schedule an appointment with the dealer.
