Anyone with a Ranch Hand brush guard help me out.
I'm running ideas through my mind(dangerous I know). I found a Warn Trans4ormer grill guard for $150 brand new. However its for a 97-98 F150 I have an 02. Slight difference in bumper contour as well as mount design. I'm sure the mounts would work on my truck however the contours on the brackets would have to be worked on. Outside of that I don't know what else would have to be customized. I think I'd be opening a can of worms.
I have a guy that builds custom bumpers for a living and could help me out on modifications to the mount. However in the end it would probably end up a fully custom setup.
The other option of getting a winch on my truck involves a combination of things. I like the Ranchand brush guard its solid and looks good. However it doesn't offer a winch ready(mount or receiver) setup.
I'm considering a Ranch hand brush guard with a custom receiver mount sticking out the opening in the bumper. simple plug designed to hold a license plate to cover it up. I'd prefer a bolt in design similar to the Warn hidden winch setup however a receiver and not the winch plate. The idea is to not cut the lower bumper.
Would it work. I can't remember how the Ranch hand mounts. I saw some mounting instructions once but cannot find them online now. My Google Fu is weak tonight.
I'm sure sandwiching a receiver mount for a winch, brackets for the Ranch Hand and tow hooks on the same 4 bolts would be a bad idea. Maybe enlarge the brackets and drill through the frame to install two per side through bolts that run horizonal.
What I'm really after is how does the ranch hand mount. If its a simple sandwich between the tow loops and the frame with supports attached to the top bumper bracket it might be possible.
