Looks great. Little weird with getting rid of the vents though.

I personally wouldn't have deleted the vents but since its only 2 seater my son feels the other two vents are sufficient to cool the interior, and its his truck not mine. As far as the heater/ac control is concerned, its being moved down to the console just under the I-Pad.

Also this is not a daily driven truck. The nice thing about the I-pad is that you can simply slide it out and take it with you. My Expo will be getting the same thing....albeit a little different install....Dad's way.

Might just move to another spot though.

What holds the I pad in place, from falling out when hitting bumps or what not.

he probably made a shell around the ipad from fiberglass and some felt on the back side to keep it from sliding.

Correct, once we paint the bezel we'll add some felt to protect the I-Pad and keep it firmly in place.

I personally have no idea how much one of those i pads weigh, but I'm also curious as to what the support for it looks like since I'm sure it's not feather light.

they weigh about a pound and a half, as far as stability correct me if im wrong but you most likely glassed the shell onto the dash then body worked the rest to get it smooth to get the look you wanted

You are correct, we made a template which was glassed into the factory bezel. My install will be somewhat different. I perfer mine to be set back flush with the bezel. This will require me to build a hinge system so I can get the I-Pad out of its holder. I won't be eliminating the vents either so I will have to come up with an alternative vent from another vehicle. The stock ones are too big.

glad to here your not getting rid of the vents i think the trucks that glass there dash and get rid of the vents period look a little goofy like there missing something, and as for the hinge so you can get the ipad out you could get this

http://www.expressmounts.com/ram-mou...ocket-arm.html

and 2 of these

http://www.expressmounts.com/ram-mou...-ram-202u.html

screw one ball to the inside of the dash then connect the arm and attach the other ball to the back of the ipad pan and connect that to the other end of the arm, then the ipad will be able to stay facing one way or face the driver more or the passenger as well as give you the ability to turn the ipad out and remove it easily while keeping it secure when its in position.
