Chromed out or blacked out?
Chromed out or blacked out?
I have a white 2002 F-150 supercrew stock everything. I'm debating between chroming the head and tail lights or blacking them out. I would also either get a black grill or chrome grill depending on the lights. I'm worried that the black might not look good on the white, what do you guys think?
**EDIT**
I've narrowed it down to these for the headlights/grille combo:
BLACK: http://www.k2motor.com/hglhp-f150971pcjm-tm.html
CHROME: http://www.k2motor.com/hglhp-f150971pc-tm.html
And these for the tail lights:

I HATE blacked out trucks, I think it makes things look cheap 75% of the time.
On the other hand, plastering chrome all over your truck makes it look like you ordered everything out the JC Whitney catalog.
My suggestions; E-bay lighting heads and corners. Stock or just tinted tail lights. I like the stock grill just paint it black.
If you want, some chrome grills don't look bad, just remember its easy to over do chrome and make your truck look tacky, or make blacking everything out look like you found a bunch of un painted parts and never got around to painting them and cheap black rims just look cheap and reminds me of a car thats hubcaps have fallen off.
Both ways can look great, both ways can look terrible.
Moderation is key.

White is such a clean color all on its own. I wouldnt do anything other than some HD light upgrades and some PTM on a few parts.. clean look. You start chopping it up with black or chrome and that clean look goes away.
The contrast of white on black is so sharp, IMO. My truck started out as white/chrome and now I'm switching to white/black

Black is the "new" chrome. I would not buy 1pc headlight/signals IMO it doesn't look right. But go with what you want its your truck and you have to drive it and see it the most.

On a white truck, IMO chrome in moderation is best. For instance, you're truck, clear Lightning heads and corners, a white grille surround and a chrome billet grille (horizontal). I'm starting to really get sick of the "blackout" look, certain things yeah but not everything from everyone. As far as the taillights go, either can't go wrong on the white truck. Pics of your truck would help though, can't say for sure anything without pics.
I agree with ErikShockey-Black is the new chrome. The black accents on your white truck will really make it "pop" IMO. As other posters said already, it's your truck and you've got to live with and luv whatever you do.
BTW-my truck is grey and I am gradually blacking it out with small chrome accents.
