Adding cruise control in base model '02?
Do you HAVE to have that master cylinder with the connector in order to have cruise? Because if I have to change out that master cylinder, then I gotta bleed the brakes, and that's just difficult or expensive.
so it'll be cheaper to buy a truck equipped with cruise control then...
The switch on the master cylinder is a redundant switch. In the event that CC does not disengage your first reaction is to press harder on the brakes. This switch is set to open the circuit when you press harder on the brakes. Bypassing it will still allow the cruise to function.
Also, aside from the brake thing... I know I need a steering wheel with the switches and a new clockspring. Found a wheel in great shape at a junkyard, but the guy wanted to sell me the entire column. If I'm removing the wheel and the clockspring, just how much more difficult is it to remove the column? It would give me tilt, which I don't have, and that would be kinda nice, but it's obviously not necessary. Just wondering if anyone has experience with that part of it.
