1997 engine swap

Hey guys new to the forum. I have a question that may have been asked in the past, but here goes. I have a 1997 f150 that the motor is shoot.. My question is can you put a 1991 5.0 out of a mustang into the f150, or specifically what is the difficulty or main challanges. I have accesss to a running car intact, so have access to motor, tranny, wiring harness, etc...
Tranny is a t-5 tremec but currently have automatic in truck. Is it possible to use auto in truck or not?

All my mechanical knowledge if with older cars (1965-1969 mustangs). I have very limited EFI knowledge so any imput will help.

anythings possible but swapping out modulars for windsors or what ever engine isnt really a practical swap. Custom mounts no compatibility with the instrument cluster or any of the electrical system and no the bell pattern on the mod motor is different.. What engine do you have now? might be way easier to get another/better engine that the truck will work with better..

I would look at the possibility of swapping in a 5.4 you can get them fairly cheap in the junkyard and its a reasonable swap.
